About Kingmik
Kingmik is the oldest established dog
sledding tour company in the West, and has been operating
in Banff National Park since 1982. We now are pleased
to offer multi-day trips in the remote and spectacular
Yukon.
We consider ourselves small but mighty
with just 75 great dogs and four fulltime personable drivers,
each eager to answer your questions and do everything
they can to make your dog sled tour memorable. Our immediate
objective is to provide visitors with a lifetime memory
of a truly great dog sledding experience.
With this goal in mind, we run on average,
no more than four sleds per tour time, as we feel this
enables our guests to best experience the silent grace
and beauty of dog mushing.
Each party receives undivided individual
attention from our experienced guides. For larger groups
who wish to travel together, we have the ability to run
six sleds per tour time with advance notice.
In the Yukon, Doug Hannah, the original
founder of Kingmik and a leader of wilderness mushing
expeditions for over 20 years, is keen to share his passion
for travel by dog team with you. Doug and another guide,
will lead no more than 4 guests per trip into the beautiful
Anvil Range in the central Yukon. On these multi-day tours
you will be caring for, and driving, your own team of
wonderful Alaskan Huskies.
